For more than 30 years now Leuze lumiflex GmbH + Co. KG as a subsidiary of Leuze electronic is producing innovative safety systems for accident prevention in the industrial workplace, and consequently ranks among the world's leading technology providers.
Our goal is to produce safety sensors and control devices that enable an economical integration into various machine and plant system concepts, and which also provide effective people protection in accordance with international safety standards, without obstructing workflows.
Safety technology for the global market
Observation of international quality and safety standards, tested by recognized certified testing centers like TÜV and BIA, guarantees that our products are accepted the world over and that their high quality can be maintained. Active participation on international standards boards ensures that our safety technology is always state-of-the-art. Our development processes and the safety management practiced in our company have been certified according to IEC 61508-1.

- 1968 Company founding, originally as an engineering of
- 1983 Name changed to Lumiflex Elektronik
- 1986 First BG (Berufsgenossenschaft) tested, completely electronic reflective light curtain
worldwide
- 1992 First BIA (Berufsgenossenschaftliches Institut für Arbeitssicherheit) tested safety light
curtain using microcontroller technology worldwide
- 1993 Lumiflex Elektronik becomes a 100% subsidiary of Leuze electronic
- 1995 First safety light grid with integrated muting function
- 1999 Final assembly of safety light curtains performed worldwide in Rockaway, New Jersey
(USA), St. Neots, Cambs (UK) and Sao Paulo (Brazil)
- 2000 Final assembly of safety light curtains now in Australia as well.
- 2001 The laser scanner ROTOSCAN RS4-4, with outstanding unique features, is introduced to
the market.
- Nov 2001 Purchase of the new company building in Fürstenfeldbruck
- 2003 Certification of our development processes and safety management system in accordance
with IEC 61508
- 2005 Relocation of Leuze lumiflex, Inc. from Rockaway N.J. to New Hudson, Mi and
reorganization of the US distribution network
