The AS-i safety monitor is an EMERGENCY STOP control device as defined by EN 60204-1, STOP 0 / STOP 1, IEC 61508, SIL 3 and EN 954-1, category 4, for the monitoring of AS-i bus connected EMERGENCY STOP command devices, Multiple Light Beam Safety Devices and door locks. It monitors the safety-related AS-i sensors assigned to it by the configuration software asimon. In case an emergency stop should be required or if a fault occurs, the AS-i safety monitor in its protective mode can switch off the system within a response time of 40 miliseconds at most. According to the model chosen, either one or two dependent or independent release circuits with parameterizable external device monitoring are available.

The model versions of the enhanced AS-i safety monitor ASM1E differ to the basic version in a number of additional functions like activation/deactivation of monitoring devices or additional monitoring devices.

Advantages

  • Up to 31 safe AS-i slaves can be connected

  • Freely selectable assignment (Drag & Drop) of the sensor to outputside release circuits with easy to operate asimon configuration and -diagnostics software

  • 48 link modules (e.g. OR, AND, FLIPFLOP) and turn on/ off delays can be configured for the monitoring modules

  • RS 232 interface for PC-supported system configuration and system diagnostics as well as configuration data transfer to replacement device

  • Immediate switch-off STOP 0 and delayed switch-off STOP 1 of the release circuits can be parametered

  • SERVICE button for automatic system integration (teach-in) of AS-i sensors with a sensor exchange and system reset

  • Safety Category 4 as defined by EN 954-1

  • Continuous control of secure data transfer between secure AS-i sensor and AS-i Master

  • Versions available with up to 4 relay circuit outputs (2 release circuits) with positively driven safety relay contacts and max. 3 amp per release circuit

  • Manual restart interlock/automatic start and relay monitoring can be parameterized

  • Logic devices (e.g. OR, AND, FLIPFLOP) and switch-on/switch-off delay devices or system devices can be parameterized

  • Signal outputs show status of circuit outputs

  • RJ-45 interface for PC-supported system configuration and system diagnosis as well as for transfer of configuration data to another device
