Two-channel safety sequential circuit for optoelectronic protective devices with device monitoring (EDM)
The relays K1 and K2 of the MSI-RM2 are directly activated by OSSD1 and OSSD2 of the AOPD. Before the OSSDs of the protective device are switched on, the protective device checks whether the signal contacts between Y1 and Y2 are closed. If this is the case, the OSSDs will be switched on, the release contacts (terminals 11-14 and 21-24) will close and the signal contacts Y1 and Y2 will open. In the example shown in Illustration 1 a feedback voltage of 24V is expected.

The relays K1 and K2 of the MSI-RM2 are directly activated by OSSD1 and OSSD2 of the AOPD. So as to monitor the functionality of the MSI-RM2 and the external contactors, the signal contacts of K1 and K2, as also K4 and K5, are looped into the device monitoring circuit. In the example shown in Illustration 2 a feedback voltage of 24 V is expected.
