SafetyLab facilitates the diagnosis and parameterizing of COMPACTplus Safety Light Curtains and Multiple Light Beam Safety Devices from firmware version 3.10 and upward. The PC software supports the COMPACTplus functional packages designated by the suffixes –b (blanking), -m (muting) and –i (machine cycle control). As with a safety PLC system, functions, control signals and notification messages can to a great extent be freely selected and assigned to the input and output channels of the receiver, up to the number of 15. This means that the COMPACTplus safety sensors can be ideally adapted to the task in hand, based on the specifications of the machine.

| SafetyLab can be used with all available functional packages of the COMPACTplus series from firmware version 3.10 or later.

Hardware Requirements
|
|
The following components are required for the initial startup of SafetyLab:
- The COMPACTplus safety device, installed as described in the Connection and Operating Instructions
- PC or laptop with: Microsoft Windows 95 or later
Pentium 2 processor or later
32 MB of RAM
Hard drive with at least 10 MB of free memory
CD-ROM drive
Color monitor
RS232 interface or
USB interface and interface converter
USB-RS232 with driver software
