Workshops and products for safety at work

Apart from products for safety at work, Leuze electronic also offers numerous workshops in which users can familiarize themselves with the legal requirements of German, European and global laws, standards and regulations.

Owen, February 12, 2016 – In 2016, Leuze electronic is once again inviting design engineers, maintenance technicians, machine operators as well as health and safety representatives from all over Germany to various events where they can take part in workshops to familiarize themselves with Leuze products for safety at work as well as with the applicable laws, standards and regulations and their implications for safe construction and design, operation and modification of CE-compliant machines.

Product workshops are available for the new RSL 400 safety laser scanner (which won the GIT Award 2016 sponsored by the publishers Wiley-VCH Verlag), the MLD multibeam safety light curtains as well as the MLC safety light curtains. Practical examples are used to demonstrate their operating principle, parameterization and configuration options, troubleshooting and diagnostics as well as the underlying standards.

The guideline workshops provide information on the relevant standards/regulations, and their content is aimed at design engineers and those responsible for safety at work. The safety-related requirements of machinery directive 2006/42/EC, e.g. standard-compliant risk assessments and the legal background, are discussed on the basis of practical examples.

The workshops on the ISO13849 standard clarify issues concerning application of the standard and calculation of the safety functions using the calculation tool “SISTEMA”.

Safe operation and the modification of existing machines are covered in a further series of workshops. Employers and those responsible for safety at work are provided with comprehensive information regarding the obligations arising from the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health as well as any changes from 2015.
