Applications
BCL 500: Bar code reading on objects of different heights
Requirement: On a roller conveyor, packages of different heights, all on trays, are transported at a high speed. It must be ensured that the 1D-codes are read reliably regardless of their distance from the reader.
Solution: The 1D-code readers have a reading range of up to 2,400 mm and can therefore read bar codes reliably even from longer distances, as well as at high web speeds.
BCL 500i: Omnidirectional bar code reading
Requirement: Codes must be read on objects with high movement speed independent of their alignment, position and height.
Solution: The BCL 500i 1D-code readers are available as modular scanner systems for omnidirectional reading. Through their high scanning rate and operating range, codes can be read on quickly moving objects of various height.
BCL 500i: Fast commissioning with a large number of scan stations
Requirement: In a logistics center, a large number of bar code scan stations are being installed. The commissioning must be fast and simple.
Solution: Module selection in the GSD/GSDML files enables simple integration in PROFIBUS or PROFINET networks. Commissioning is performed quickly thanks to parameterization via the browser-based webConfig.
BCL 500i: Bar code reading on meshed containers
Requirement: In a logistics center, individual packages are picked as an overall shipment and loaded into meshed containers for the recipient. Some of the bar codes on the meshed containers are soiled or damaged in places and must still be read reliably.
Solution: The BCL 500i features integrated code reconstruction technology, enabling reliable reading of soiled or damaged codes. This ensures that processes run smoothly and systems have high availability.
BCL 600i: Bar code reading with different object heights using a blue laser diode
Requirement: If objects of various height are transported on a conveyor line at high speed, it must be guaranteed that the 1D-codes are read independent of their distance to the reader.
Solution: The BCL 600i 1D-code readers have a reading range of up to 2,400 mm and can therefore read bar codes reliably even from longer distances. The BCL 600i bar code readers also achieve a 50% greater depth of field with their blue laser diode than devices with red laser light. The high scanning rate of up to 1,000 scans/s guarantees code reading even at high conveyor speeds.
BCL 600i: Bar codes with a small modulus size at longer distances
Requirement: If codes with low modulus size need to be read on objects from a relatively far distance, a 1D-code reader with the largest possible reading field depth is necessary.
Solution: The BCL 600i 1D-code readers achieve a 50% greater depth of field with their blue laser diode than devices with red laser light. The high reading field depth reduces the sensitivity in the event of fluctuations in distance and eliminates the need for manual focus adjustment.
BCL 600i: Omnidirectional bar code reading with a blue laser diode
Requirement: Codes must be read independent of their alignment and position.
Solution: The BCL 500i and 600i bar code readers are each available as modular scanner systems. Through their arrangement, omnidirectional reading is possible. The blue laser diode enables an extended reading field without changing the focus adjustment.
Highlights
- Simple integration
thanks to integrated connectivity – in this way the most important interfaces are already integrated in the device. For simple and fast connection to the control without an additional gateway. - Comfortable online parameterization and diagnosis
with webConfig software via Ethernet. - Oscillating mirror models
for automatically scanning on large areas with variably placed codes. - Innovative Multiscan functionality
for coupling several BCLs into one unit without additional devices, e.g. for reading from two sides. - Integrated switch functionality
saves the time and expense of cabling in all Ethernet fieldbuses through device line wiring.
